The ACE Story


Established in 2022, ACE Physiotherapy Mackay is a locally owned musculoskeletal, vestibular/dizziness and women's health physiotherapy clinic in the Mackay region.

Our practice prides itself on being one of the most experienced clinics in town.  Nelson, Denis, Amy and Madison have a strong belief in offering high quality hands on patient centred care, as well as giving expert treatment and advice.    

Our clinicians each boast a minimum 10 years experience and are committed to ongoing professional development to ensure an exceptional standard of knowledge and clinical practice is maintained.

Senior Physiotherapist

Denis Constantin

Denis has been a physiotherapist in Mackay for over 15 years. Born in Mauritius, he moved to Australia in 1998 on an Olympic scholarship.

While competing as an Olympic athlete and Commonwealth games athlete he was also working to complete his physiotherapy degree through Latrobe University in Melbourne.

Denis has extensive experience in musculoskeletal, sports and vestibular physiotherapy. He has continued his professional development in these areas over the past 15 years.

Denis has extensive access to specialist care and advice through his years of working closely with local and interstate specialists.

Senior Physiotherapist

Madison Davidson

Madison is a Mackay local who studied physiotherapy at James Cook University, graduating in 2014.  Madison has 10 years of clinical experience working both in Australia and the United Kingdom.  


She has worked in hospital, aged care and private practice settings over the years and has a vast knowledge in treating acute injuries and managing chronic conditions.  


Madison can help you out with multiple issues, however she has a special interest in treating women's health, hip pain, osteoarthritis and spinal pain.  


She is recently completed post graduate studies and is now taking women's health patients. 

Senior Physiotherapist

Nelson Abela

Nelson has 14 years of physiotherapy experience after graduating from James Cook University in 2010. 


He has worked extensively in both Australia and England. He returned to his hometown of Mackay in 2014, and since then has worked in both hospital and private practice settings.


His areas of expertise include treating neck, shoulder, lower back, knee and ankle pain or dysfunction.  


He also has a strong interest in pre/post operative orthopaedic care, and helping people with chronic issues return to normal function.


Whether you are a weekend warrior, elite athlete, injured worker or going through your golden years, Nelson is the person to help you out.

Senior Physiotherapist

Amy Parata

Amy studied at the University of Queensland and has been working as a qualified physiotherapist for 14 years.  


Amy is a well known clinician in Mackay and has spent most of her working career in the region.  She has a strong interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and can help clients out with a number of issues. 


If you need help with neck, shoulder, lower back, hip, knee or ankle pain, then Amy can sort you out.  She also has lots of experience helping out with acute sporting injuries and also managing chronic conditions such as OA.

Leanne and Ann form our wonderful admin team.  They have been working in the Mackay region for many years and are always ready to greet our wonderful clients with a smile and friendly face.

Do I need a referral to make an appointment?

As primary care practitioners no referral is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome.

can my physiotherapist refer me for imagery?

Yes they can, if indicated. Furthermore, onward referral to specialists can also be made where necessary.

do I need private health insurance?

Private health insurance is not needed for appointments.

Do you offer Medicare rebates?

Medicare rebates can only be offered where your GP has already issued you with a care plan. These of course have eligibility criteria.

If my referral is to another physiotherapy clinic, am I able to bring that to you and book at your clinic?

We happily accept all referrals.

do I need to bring my imagery?

While it is helpful to bring this with you, our clinicians are able to log into all local radiology clinics to review your imagery results.

 Is your clinic wheelchair and crutches friendly?

Yes, our clinic is definitely accessible to all.
