No, you do not need a referral to make an appointment.  Physiotherapists and exercise physiologists are known as first contact practitioners, so clients can organise their own appointments as needed

Your initial appointment includes a detailed conversation about your condition, a physical examination, and a personalised treatment plan. You’ll also receive advice on exercises to start at home. This helps create a clear treatment plan.

Physiotherapy can help with back and neck pain, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, joint stiffness, and chronic pain conditions. It also assists with balance and mobility issues.

We recommend gym-style or flexible clothing so your physiotherapist can assess movement properly. Avoid restrictive garments or anything difficult to adjust. For example, shorts for leg issues or a singlet for shoulder or neck problems.

Appointments can be made online, over the phone, or at our reception. Our staff will guide you through the booking process and answer any questions you have.

Medicare may cover part of the cost, if your GP has referred you on a Medicare Care Plan referral.  These appointments are not fully bulk billed.  Please see your GP to discuss further or organise a referral.

No, this is not necessary.  However, if you do have copies of recent imaging reports, please bring them along to your appointment.  Our clinicians can also access your imaging reports online if they were performed locally here in Mackay.
